S.M. Probably Dean Parratt for his work rate and enthusiasm

S.M. Vs. Heybridge Swifts 6-2 in November 1997.

S.M. Purfleet vs. Daggers 4-0.

S.M. David Pratt, a free kick against Heybridge at home, this gave him his hat-trick.

6. Most memorable moment

S.M. The whole day out at Wembley

7. Most forgettable moment.

S.M. Tony Rogers, he missed in the last minute of the FA Trophy Semi-Final 1st leg against Gloucester City from a yard out after an inch perfect cross from Pratt.

8. Best comment heard from the terraces

S.M. Two comments come to mind:

1) I can't remember the game but the referee gave an indirect free kick for offside. As he ran backwards past the half way line with his arm aloft someone shouted "Hands up who is a blind b.......d". After a well timed pause they shouted "OK ref, you win, you can put your hand down now".

2) Tony Rogers, had had a few bad games, but in the match against Chelmsford City in the FA Trophy he was dire. The crowd here were becoming quite abusive and giving him quite a bit of stick. Of course he went and scored, then came the response from the crowd. There was great praise for him they were saying how good he is and that they had always liked him. They chanted "there's only one Tony Rogers" then came "We're not fickle fans".
