1. FAVOURITE PLAYER/S OF ALL TIME & WHY?
Glyn Creaser - 100% man, hard as nails defender, Courtney Naylor - Very
fast and scored some good goals, Vinny John - Not very good but a crowd
pleaser
1a. FAVOURITE CURRENT PLAYER/S AND WHY?
Lee Matthews - The best defender in the league. Can head well, is strong,
tackles perfectly and can pass the ball out. Tim Cole - The timing of his
slide tackles is a joy to watch and is good in the air.
2. BEST TEAM PERFORMANCE/S OF ALL TIME?
Obviously, the two Charlton games, stuffing Telford 4-0 in the trophy a
few seasons ago,
2a. BEST PERFORMANCE OF THE 2000/01 SEASON?
Without going for the obvious, it has to be at home to Stevenage in the
second half when they hardly got a kick and we could have had about 6.
3. WORST TEAM PERFORMANCE/S?
Away at Purfleet several times, mainly the 4-0 one away in 97/8
4. WORST TEAM PERFORMANCE FROM LAST SEASON
Away at Hayes, Lost 4-1, we were never at the races. Probably one game
too far after the great run we had, but still very poor. Baptiste and
Quinn took the defence apart and that little left-winger made Goodwin look
a little silly for the first time ever.
5. MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT?
The home game against Charlton where we well deserved a win, more so than
in the first game. McDougald's goal against them away. Roberts' wonder
save at home to Dover when he sprung across goal and tipped the ball
round. Wembley performance, Wye hacking down Vinny John when through on
goal and not even getting a free kick, Stimmo missing when he cut inside
and put it wide with his right, Pratty volleying just wide. Gothard wonder
save against Gloucester in the semi when he tipped a free kick round when
it looked a certain top corner job. Stimmo goal in replay volley from long
range.
6. MOST FORGETTABLE MOMENT?
Loss to Weymouth last season in the Trophy, loss to Purfleet at home
at Christmas a few years ago, debut of Lee Parrish away at Heybridge,
debut of Tony Reynolds, debut of Graham Mansfield. .
7. BEST COMMENT HEARD FROM THE TERRACES?
There have been so many, it is hard to pick one.
8. WHAT WOULD YOU DO TO YOUR CLUB TO IMPROVE IT?
Crash barriers and extension behind Pondfield Road end to get 6000
capacity.
9. WHAT OTHER QUESTION WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE ON THIS
QUESTIONAIRE & HOW WOULD YOU ANSWER IT?
How would you improve attendances? I would say posters around town in
shop windows etc, get a local babe to parade the pitch in a bikini before
games and at half time, get a mascot to give sweeties to children.
11. WHY DO YOU SUPPORT A NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL CLUB?
Cheaper, more personal involvement, close to home, easier to get tickets,
allowed to change ends at H/T
12. BEST MATCH BEEN TO NOT INVOLVING THE DAGGERS?
Arsenal v Newcastle FA Cup Final, Arsenal won 2-0 Overmars and Anelka.
However Warren Barton didn't get sent off I don't know, he took Parlour
out when through on goal.
13. FAVOURITE NON-LEAGUE GROUND?
Yeovil
14. FAVOURITE LEAGUE GROUND VISITED?
Does Barcelona count??
