1. FAVOURITE CURRENT PLAYER &
WHY?
J.B. A close thing between Paul
Gothard and Jason Broom. Paul, because he keeps us in so many games
(despite the odd lapse) and Jason for skill and loyalty.
2. FAVOURITE PLAYER OF ALL TIME?
J.B. Probably Paul Cavell-such a
good goalscorer. But also a mention for; Micky Dingwall; Marcos Ebdon;
Gary Butterworth and Glyn Creaser.
3. BEST TEAM PERFORMANCE?
S.N. The away ties in the Trophy run
of 1997. The team spirit and never say die attitude.
4. WORST TEAM PERFORMANCE?
J.B. Over the years I have seen many
(often 0-4's). More recently 0-5 against Wycombe and 0-5 versus Hyde.
5. BEST GOAL 1997/98 SEASON?
J.B. Either one of Pratt's against
Heybridge (November 97) or Shipp against Peterborough in December 97.
6. BEST GOAL OF ALL TIME?
J.B. John Charles for Leytonstone
against Enfield in an FA Amateur cup match at Leyton Orient.
7. MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT?
J.B. At Slough in1997 realising that
after 29 years I'd see my team at Wembley
8. MOST UNFORGETTABLE( and
REGRETTABLE) MOMENTS?
J.B. 1) Sorrell getting sent off
(and the afters) at Chesham. 2) The Club not sacking him immediately. 3)
Losing at Horwich RMI
9. BEST COMMENT HEARD FROM THE
TERRACES?
J.B. Plenty from the Half Way line
Posse, (as long as they are not anti pony tail) but I still think 'Youre
Shipp and you know you are' because it's so true.
10. WHAT WOULD YOU DO TO THE
CLUB TO IMPROVE IT?
J.B. 1) At the moment install a
better drainage system. 2) Get and train proper stewards so people that
shout racist abuse (unfortunately quite frequently) are ejected/banned and
charged.
11. DO YOU FOLLOW A FOOTBALL
LEAGUE CLUB IF SO WHO?
J.B. No, but a soft spot for
Leicester City and Bradford City and Fassley Celtic- I've watched them all
when living up t'north.
12. WHAT OTHER QUESTION WOULD
YOU LIKE TO SEE ON THIS QUESTIONAIRE?
J.B. Best match ever seen? 4-5
against Leyton Orient and 4-3 vs Farnboro' (Leytonstone/Ilford) London
Senior Cup Final at Dulwich Hamlet.
13. WHY DO YOU SUPPORT A
NON-LEAGUE CLUB LIKE DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE F.C
J.B. When I was 7 or 8 I was taken
to see Leytonstone at Granleigh Road-hundreds of matches & loads of
years later I clearly still have the bug.
14. FAVOURITE MATCH BEEN TO NOT
INVOLVING THE DAGGERS?
J.B. Leicester City 3 Leatherhead 2
FA Cup match in 1975 or 6
15. FAVOURITE NON & FOOTBALL
LEAGUE GROUND VISITED EXCLUDING WEMBLEY?
J.B. Not very keen on
professional grounds but I quite like watching games at Brisbane Road
(Orient) and Upton Park (West Ham). A recent visit (although it wasn't to
watch football) to the Majedski Stadium revealed that to be very
impressiv. The Stade de France was really food even if the game was so far
away it resembled chess!
16. FAVOURITE NON-LEAGUE GROUND
VISITED?
J.B. I did like visiting
Loakes Park (Wycome Wanderers). More recently St. Albans, Aldershot and,
very strangely Enfield
17. WIERDEST GROUND VISITED?
J.B. Undoubtedly Marine
(although, of course, Granleigh Road was pretty unusual).
18. BEST DAY OUT FOLLOWING THE
TEAM?
J.B. Gloucester 1997 (FA
Trophy semi-final second leg) 2-2, what a brilliant day. Other cup trips
to; Morecombe; Hednesford; Kidderminster; Dover; Oldbury (Leytonestone
days); Peterborough Yeovil stay in mind and of course Wembley 1997.
19. BEST WEEKEND TRIP TO SEE
FOOTBALL?
J.B. Paris 1998-Stade de
France, Nigeria 1 Denmark 4 (and the Danes were awesome).
Thanks John
